Tropical Acres — West Palm Beach, Florida

Old Florida dining legend meets RV overnight — Tropical Acres and the palm-tree version of harvest hospitality.

Tropical Acres in West Palm Beach is institution territory — ranch-style Florida dining with roots deeper than most chains’ marketing budgets. Harvest Hosts here felt surreal in the best way: polished trailer parked near a place people dress up for, us rotating between flip-flops and respect.

We ate well — seriously well — then retreated to the Basecamp with the satisfied coma of travelers who didn’t cook and didn’t regret it. Palm fronds scraped the sky. Humidity hugged. January elsewhere was a rumor.

West Palm’s energy buzzed beyond the fence line: boats, money, art, Atlantic salt. We sampled a slice without committing to a week of parking fees that would require refinancing the Airstream.

Silver Trekker verdict: Iconic Florida meal plus Host night — dress casual, eat serious, sleep horizontal.
