Bundutec USA — Raymond, Iowa

Camping gear meets camper curiosity — a night at the manufacturer where pop-top dreams are built.

BundutecUSA in Raymond, Iowa is a different flavor of Harvest Hosts: industrial hospitality, product passion, and conversations about how things are made. For two people who treat the Basecamp like a member of the family, it was catnip.

We toured, asked nerdy questions about fabrication and design, and parked among proof that Iowa builds more than corn exports. Doug mentally upgraded half the rig; Marla mentally upgraded the budget conversation that would follow.

Evening camp felt like sleeping in a showroom that breathed — concrete nearby, stars overhead, the hum of machinery replaced by crickets. We left smarter about how our adventure machine fits in the larger ecosystem of road life.

Silver Trekker verdict: Maker stops reward the curious. Raymond is worth the detour if you like knowing how the sausage — or the camper shell — gets made.
