Why this Basecamp is different
Plenty of Basecamps can get you to the trailhead. This one lets you stay there. A factory Basecamp 20X is already the most capable trailer Airstream makes — single axle, aluminum monocoque shell, X-Package lift and all-terrain tires. But stock, it runs out of battery on day two.
We solved that. This trailer carries a 400Ah Battle Born lithium bank and a 3,000-watt pure sine inverter — enough to run the microwave, charge e-bikes, brew real coffee, and even run the air conditioner (with installed SoftStart) without a generator and without hookups. A DC-DC charger tops the bank back up every mile you tow.
For perspective: Airstream now charges $7,300 for a factory option with half this battery capacity. This build is bigger, better integrated, and already done.
