Day 1: The Launch

The Mothership departs! We leave the Windy City traffic behind and set our sights on the Great North.
Day 2-4: The Sea Caves
Aug 15 – 17, 2026
Campground: Legendary Waters Resort (Red Cliff, WI).
Welcome to the “Caribbean of the North”! We are parking right on the shores of Lake Superior.
- Kayaking the famous Sea Caves
- Ferry to Madeline Island
- Campfire sunsets over the lake
Day 5: Architecture & Dylan

A day of culture while we tow!
Cloquet, MN: Fill up at the R.W. Lindholm Service Station—the only gas station designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
Hibbing, MN: See the Greyhound Bus Museum (where it all started) and drive past Bob Dylan’s childhood home.
Day 5-6: Voyageurs NP
Aug 18 – 20, 2026
Campground: The Pines of Kabetogama.
We’ve reached the water-based National Park! Time to rent a pontoon or fish for walleye.
Day 7: The Angle!
Aug 21, 2026
Campground: Warroad City/County Campground.
The Main Event: We unhitch and drive the truck through Canada to get back to the US at the Northwest Angle.
- Photo op at the “Jim’s Corner” reporting booth.
- Visit the northernmost point of the contiguous US.
- Lunch at Jerry’s Bar & Restaurant on Young’s Bay.
Day 8+: The Rally!
Aug 22 – 27, 2026
Destination: Minot, North Dakota (“The Magic City”).
69th International Rally: Thousands of Airstreams. We’ll check out the Scandinavian Heritage Park and the Dakota Territory Air Museum.
